I've started seeing hundreds of bugs on my glass lately. Ocassionally I will find some with a double abdomen; they are too small to get a pic of. Any ideas?

Found a magnifier to show the bugs, notice some have two abdomens.

Anytime I set up my frag tank and move corals with LR or tiles attached over I get a population explosion in tank without any predators present. I always want to rescue Dragonettes or Pipefish during these.

Cheers, Todd

Thank you all for easing my mind about them! Just wanted to make sure they wernt predators. I have a mandarin right now but he usually won't go up high enough on the glass to eat these guys. Will scraping them off the glass get them down to the lower part of the tank for the mandarin?

I am very glad to see this post. I had the same question, but in addition to seeing come with double abdomens some seem to have long sweepers on one end. Is that also a characteristic of a copepods?

Not to highjack this thread, but I see tiny white circular shapes appearing on my glass. Using a 10X eye loupe, I can see a thin tan swirl inside this shape. Doesn't sound like a copepods by the description above. They doesn't seem move around. Any ideas?
