I have had a few Acro colonies go down the drain. No reason why, just faded, lost polyp extension, etc. Ended up trashing them. I noticed most of my remaining colonies have these greyish specks on them. I have seen them move when the lights are off but generally they do not move or move very slowly during the day. I tried getting one to look under a microscope and it is near impossible. I was going to hit the tank with interceptor but want to make sure this is some type of Acro bug before I kill all my crabs and shrimp.

And here is a video of one moving on my slimer who lost all PE even at night.

Definitely

I can't get interceptor very easy so was going to use Dr. G's coral dip. 1 capful for 30 gallons. Are these technically black bugs which, from my research, require a higher dosage?

Gonna be hard to use a dip to rid the tank of red or black bugs.
Might do a little research and see what the active ingredients are in Interceptor. I know it can be hard to get as it's a heartworm med for dogs.. maybe call a vet... Tell him your dog(fish) has heartworm..

The dr. G coral dip is actually interceptor. Seems like everyone who uses it does a dose of 1 capful per 30 gallons. I am just not sure if I should treat these like black bugs and up the dose or like red bugs and go standard.

If it is indeed interceptor, you cant overdose. Or at least so I have been told and actually done. I dosed my SPS 240 with a 750 gallon dose. Bugs gone, corals happy.
The corals actually seem to like Interceptor.

@codydemmel4 take a look at the video of the green slimer. Are these the same black bugs you dealt with?

I am 99% sure those are the same thing. Do a 4x dose of interceptor and they will be gone, easiest pest to deal with along with red bugs. Make sure you take out shrimp and crabs though if you don't want them to die.
