Build my own system?

So Ive been thinking about getting a bigger tank looking at reefer 250 or waterbox 70.3, or make my own 40 breeder or 75 gal which I think would be cheaper? Problem is I dont have tools and much room to do arts and crafts I live in an apartment and Im not handyman specially with plumbing I have read threads about making them but I dont know if I can haha any thoughts? If not is sump really necessary? Maybe 2 aquaclea 110 or 70 plus wavemakers and HOB skimmer if no sump?

I’d look into an AIO (all in one) type tank. It’s great because you have baffles that separate the sections in the back. You can hide a small skimmer, pumps, filter all in the back. It’s super simple. You can PM me of you want more info as I’ve kept these. No plumbing necessary.

Like buying a 40 breeder drilling etc and making sump too

Remember, the aquariums are not the same. Waterbox and Red Sea use low iron glass. Conventional glass has a strong green tint. Low iron glass has a much less color. If that is not important to you, you can go far cheaper with a conventional.

First off, you should use a drilled aquarium with a sump. Sumps just make things so convenient. You don’t have to go full DIY. Reef aquariums are often sold by people getting out of the hobby and one of those will be preplumbed.

Heck, you might even be able to get a used water ox or Red Sea secondhand.

Or you could buy a new conventional aquarium from the LFS and see how much the owner of the shop will charge for plumbing the system. If you buy the set up, there is a good chance of getting the plumbing done cheap.

Nice thanks for the advice yes im looking into those too, havent seen much posted but im keeping an eye, I also just saw the nuvo fusion 50 lagoon looks awesome i like the dimensions too
