Hello,

Long time lurker, first time posting.
I purchased a used tank from Facebook marketplace.

Waterbox Crystal Peninsula 5526

Display volume: 130 gallons
Sump volume: 40 gallons
Display length 55 inches, width 26 inches, height 24 inches.

After what feels like a college degrees worth of research I have all my equipment to get this thing running.

First I used the red sea sump modification kit to remove the filter sock baffles so I can install the clarisea sk3000 fleece roller.

I purchased a Reef octopus Elite 150-int so I could use with the Poseidon ozone generator.

Went back and forth between the ink bird heater controller and the helio. I ended up buying the 700W helio PTC smart heater. Which is 2 (350W heaters) comes with 5 year manufacture warranty.

ATO I went with the tried and true Osmolator 3155.

Return pump I decided on the neptune Cor-20

UV sterilizer I bought the aqua 57w unit

Onto the display, I purchased the Maxspect Gyre XF350 cloud, aqua forest bio sand, Marcorock reef saver dry live rock, reef breeders Photon 50-V2.

BRS was having a great deal on the apex and dos so I just pulled the trigger on them. Will be setting up the dos to do AWC from the mixing station in the basement.

Almost finished with aquascape and setting up the gear. Photos soon to follow.

Thanks for sharing! Congratulations on the new adventure!!!

Some photos as promised. I got the reef breeders light mounted from the ceiling. Artwork hung above the tank with led backlighting.

Heading on a 2 week vacation soon and will be cycling the tank when I return!

Love the aquascape!

Tank is now cycling! Dr time one and only fishless cycle. Thinking a pair of clowns for my first addition. Will slowly ramp up light after cycle completes.

Glad to see the tank is cycling!

Tank has been up for over a month now. Haven’t seen any signs of the uglies yet. Lights were off first 4 weeks and are now on 15% whites for last 2 weeks. I have added a Royal Gramma and pair of Mochavinci Extreme clownfish.

Here’s the rest of my stock list:
In order in which I would add them
Blonde naso tang
Atlantic blue tang
Bluestreak cleaner wrasse
Moorish idol
Powder blue tang

Cuc added when needed:
Diamond Goby
Conch

Would you stock these fish in a different order?

Looking good! Love the clowns :cool:

Been awhile since I’ve updated this thread. Went through the short diatom phase 2 months in. Then a month later the Green Hair Algae started taking over. The tang gang pick at the rock all day without much removal. I picked up a tuxedo urchin about a month ago an he’s been putting in some hours mowing it down. Recently added a sea hare, we’ll see how he does.

phosphate and nitrates are in check now. Got some coralline growing on the few frags I have. I’m using aqua forest life bio fil for nitrifying bacteria. Just got the ozone generator running and it’s unbelievable how crystal clear the tank is now.

Have stocked most the fish I wanted, hopefully next few months can start adding corals

Before you mention the white lights it was just on to take photo of the GHA

What tangs did you add that we’re picking at the gha? My tomini spends all his time on the glass.

Blue Hippo Tang, Moorish Idol, Blue Powder Tang and a White Tail Bristletooth Tang. The bristletooth tang and blue powder graze all day.
