I have a boat load of leftover glass that I pulled out of a bunch of display cases when we closed down our antique store. I was wanting to build a wild acropora grow out system. I have several pieces that match up for the bottom and the sides. This tank would measure 5ft x 32" x 20" tall. Problem is the glass is eighth inch plate glass. I have to get the front and back pieces cut and would be able to make those quarter or half inch.
In my head with approximately 170 gallons here using the plate glass it won't work for safety reasons. If i used a solid sheet of plywood for the top of the stand making sure the largest piece of glass was supported safely do you guys think it's possible? I could eurobrace the top if that would help. Essentially the two sides that are 32"x20" tall are what I'm worried about.
