the 2x4 i have aren't perfectly straight, trying to build a base frame but the thin edges of the wood isn't even with the floor
do they need to be? if so, how do i find wood that is perfectly straight? length is about 5 feet long

@airedwin is it really bad? I’ll be interested to see what others say. But worst case I would build with the bowed side “down” so the weight of the rest of the frame and tank will push the board towards flat. Going to be hard to build it square though.

It's not awful, was just curious if it would cause problems

It is going to depend on how bad the warp is and where in the structure the wood is. Assuming the stand is well build a little warp in some of the pieces is probably not a big deal. Can also use shims under the structure as needed.

Pictures might help.
