Hi guys!

I am reading threats on reef2reef since I a long time ago, so now I thoght it was about time
to start my own account here. My name is Steffen and I'm from Karlsruhe in Germany.
Since I am currently in the process of expanding my aquarium, I thought it would be a good Idea
to make a threat about it.

Currently My Tank is a 180L (About 50Gal) Mixed Reef which you can see right here

(it is an old video, I still have to make a new one to show all the corals and fish)

Currently I'm in the process of upgrading to a 567L or 150G Tank.
Everything has already been ordered, from the custom made tank and stand to all the technical equipment
which will be used.
I'm planning on doing a whole documentation about the tank, from installing the equipment to showing
the growth of the tank over time, once it is settled.
For this reason I have already started a Facebook Page where I will be uploading all the information
which you can find here.

Now to the Technical specs:
The Tanks dimensions are 160cm x 60cm x 60cm (sorry, Im not good with feet and inches.)
Front window will be OptiWhite glass.
Sump will be 100cm x 50cm x 50cm
Stand custom built.

Lighting:
ATI Hybrid LED Powermodul 4x80W T5 + 4x75W LED
(Generation 2014)

Skimmer:
ATI PowerCone 200iS DC
(Generation 2014)

Waterflow:
2x Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6055
1x Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6045
Tunze Wavecontroller (7092.000)

Heater:
Eheim Jäger 300W

Auto Top Off:
Tunze Osmolator Universal

Media Reactors for Carbon / GFO:
2x Aqua Medic multi reactor M

Return Pump:
Eheim Compact+3000

Coral Supplementation via Balling using the new
ATI 6-Channel Dosing Pump.

As soon as I have anything new to talk about, or some of the hardware comes in
I will start making Videos about the process. Hoping I could get you guys a little excited about
my new project. If you guys have any questions at all, feel free to ask :)

Cool, just make sure you update here. Not too many people follow thread builds on Facebook, that's more for socializing.

Of course Eric, that's why I made the account here on r2r :)
I really like how you guys are open to new people, and there is a lot of activity on this board,
much more than in German ones. Thats also the reason I came here. :)

I'm always a fool when it comes to technology. I see the words ATI and I'm hooked. Those Powercone skimmers are awesome, I wish I could find one over here.

Same right here :) I like setting up a tank with all the equipment, bells and whistles just as much as I like to see the livestock growing in it when it is finished. ATI also is my favorite brand for high end Equipment when it comes to reefing, was planning on using a BM Cone 180C but, then I read about the
new Powercone with its DC pump, and I got hooked immediately.

Also Im very excited about the Hybrid LED Powermodule. Will be my first tank using LED. Always have been a metal halide guy.
Is it so hard to find ATI Products in America? I was thinking you guys had a own ATI-America ?

BTW they just released their new Dosing Pump about a week ago. 6 Channel Dosing Pump for 119€ Can't beat that. :)

Thanks for the nice welcome everyone.
Anyone in here with an ATI Hybrid Powermodule?
I would like to know how your settings are for the fixture. I will test em out myself,
but it's always nice to have some reference.

Hey Guys,

Finally I'm back, still waiting for my ATI Equipment (Skimmer, Lighting, Dosing Pump), when
the stuff arrives Ill be showing all my equipment in detail.

On Saturday my tank with stand arrived.

The stand is custom made by a local carpenter, and reinforced with a coated steel frame.
Left side (double doors) is be the Sump Area (110cm) and on the right side (50cm) I will
have my reservoir for the ATO aswell as dosing pump for TwoPart (Balling).
I still have to paint the back window black to match the overflow box.
I can take out the comb on the overflow whenever I feel the need to clean it.

I really like the look of the aquarium cover, but unfortunately I have to screw out the
three aluminium lids, because I need an open top for my ATI Hybrid Powermodule.

I'm really hoping that the rest of my equipment will arrive tomorrow, so I can start
getting to work.

Im always happy for any kind of reply :)

I like that tank a lot, looks clean in it's over all design... nice choice!

Hey guys,

it has been a while but things took me a little longer than expected, sorry to make you wait so long :P
A lot has happened since the aquarium has got here.

I am currently in the process of filling up my tank, which takes a while for my 190 Liter / day RODI unit.

For the Sump I went with a 160 Liter (100 x 40 x 40 cm) Tank.
I ordered the glass panels and siliconed them in place with the perfect height of 18cm for my skimmer.

Plumbing has been done exept for the Return pump which will be put in end of the week.
I will use a couple inches of silicone tubing before hard plumbing the pump of course to prevent any noise.

this is the right part of the stand, where my ATO reservoir and my dosing pump will have their place.

well I hope you guys like my project this far, Im still waiting for my light fixture to arrive. So excited for that.
From now on the updates will be more frequently :)

Beautiful, you can never go wrong with black... lol

I think your cat likes the stand too... lol

LOL yes, the little guy is always around the tank when I'm working on it, he is also very interested in current 50 Gallon Tank,
trying to catch fish all the time when I'm not looking. Lucky for me he hasn't been successful yet

Oboy, nothing like a 321.68.. fish snack for the feline treat... lol

Another yet belated WELCOME to R2R. A very very nice new tank build going so far, super clean and great equipment choices. Really looking forward to see what you have planned for an aquascape in there.

Cheers, Todd
