I guess just sucks to buy aio and modify might as well not buy aioYour going to find in this hobby you want backups and fail safes to things in general.
In some ways, yes AIO systems just invite future tweaks and upgrades. They can be a great way to start though.I guess just sucks to buy aio and modify might as well not buy aio

I do have a camera, wifi controlled plugs and a flood sensor though, I might just get lazy on the mods. After all I am in this hobby solely for livestock and corals the rest is of low interest to me unfortunately![]()
I agree though I’ll be able to shut the pump off from a distance if something goes wrong and arrange it when I get home. I do listen sometimes though...Think of it this way let’s say you have a $1000 in fish and coral you don’t want them to just die right? It’s the other stuff that will lead to your success.
The pvc cement when dry is fine. You wont kill anything. Ipex 04 is the general purpose cement if Oatey is not avail in Canada. Since your pipes will not be under a lot of pressure, this one is just fine. You can get the primer to be extra safe. I put the cement on both surfaces to be joined so im sure of a leak proof seal.
The different overflows and returns are all good ideas, but for now I would go with what they give you. Once you get going you can make those changes down the road.
