Hi Guys,

I built a live brine feeder for my mandarins. It is a small piece of Tupperware with a media bag over it. The Tupperware is filled with live brine, but the mandarins have paid no attention to it.

How do I get them to visit?

Please note these are captive bred and are eating pods, and sometimes will eat tiny pellets.

Thanks,

Max

Can the brine shrimp get out through the mesh? Maybe the holes are too small. The idea is to use a mesh small enough that they can slowly make their way through, and the mandarins can grab them, instead of just washing away.

I think the hole sizing is ideal. I am wondering how to get the mandarins to check it out!

Just give them time to check it out. They will eventually find it, and peck at it, then wander away, then peck at it some more. You could increase visits by maybe putting the pellets near where the feeder is, or putting the feeder near where the pellets land.
