I need a little advice with a bulb combo. I only have a 3 bulb t8, I know, great light right?!
My LFS only gets in aqua one and powerglo brands unfortunately.
I'm considering 2 18000k powerglos and an actinic aqua one.
Thoughts?

I don't know a lot about t8's. You may have more luck by buying the bulbs on-line? there may be a larger selection available.

I've considered that and the prices are mostly much lower online, like half price, but they're all international shipping from the US and I'm in aus and they refuse to ship here. Plus I'd be worried about receiving a bunch of broken tubes lol.
I may need to trek to the city some time soon.
What are your thoughts on the 2 18000k and an actinic?

I'm sorry tyler but I'm not real knowledgeable on t8's. I think that would work. I apologize, I neglected to see where you were from!

All good :) no need to apologise.
Does anyone have any thoughts about a 1:2 actinic:18000k spectrum?

Forgot about my own tread lol.
Bump for the 1:2 actinic to 18000k spectrum. Im worried it will be too blue.

Thats what corals like, more of the blue range. I think the 18k would be very good. 15k would be the range, but 18k won't hurt.

Thanks madness. For a less blue look could an 18000k, an actinic and a 10000k work?
I don't know a lot about fluorescent lighting.

I'd stay away from the 10ks, they aren't used much anymore, more and more eveyone is using the 14ks for best growth.
