Just ordered an 8 bulb fixture and I've seen a variety of people starting to use more actinic in their tanks

Can some people who run actinic bulbs show me the order! Thanks

I'm using 3 blue plus and 3 true actinic with not so great results. There's been almost no growth in that tank since switching to this combo. My old combo of 3 blue plus, 1 purple plus and 2 coral plus resulted in me selling 700 frags the year before. Personally I would replace at least 1 true actinic with a coral plus.

Really? That's crazy, just looking at the spectrum that the actinic has you'd think there would be crazy coral growth! Thanks for your advice

The actinic bulb only has like 90 par. So the blue plus, purple plus, coral plus, aquablue special has way more pur because the par is at least 3x with those bulbs. The blue plus is a mix of 420nm and 460nm.

The order depends on your coral layout in your tank.

Here is what I meant. I have an 8x24W Dimmable sunpower with 2 Reefbrite XHO fixtures and here is my layout according to my tank:

Back

Blue plus
Blue Plus ----------------- First 4 are directly over my high par loving Acros which are on the highest point in my tank.
Coral Plus
AquaBlue Special

Blue Plus
Coral Plus -------------These 2 are for my midrange par corals ( Montis, zoas,) that are midrange, closer to the front of the tank.

Actinic
Actinic -----------Low par in the front for my Acans and Chalices which are on the lowest point of the tank

Front

I just bought bulbs and tried the Giesemann Actinic Blue (replaced blue+) and the Aquablue-coral (replaced Aquablue Specials) and actually prefer the color. I have an 8 bulb ATI fixture.
Front to back !! notes 2 bulbs first on and last off.
Reefbrite 36" (on the entire cycle)
Aquablue-coral
Coral plus

How are your Red and Greens??? I also tried the Actinic Blue and it looks good but the Reds and Greens are less intense. The greens looks kile a lime color and the reds not to intense. Will be switching back to B+, C+ and P+

If you're worried about the PAR loss running actinics you could try the Giesemann Super Actinic, look a little brighter to me over the ATI Actinic. Think they have a higher par rating too. Nice bulb.
