I'm planning on moving my sump into the basement, And also setting up a 30gal water change tank along with a Fuge..

Here's a rough drawing I did,

I have a 90gal DT with a corner overflow,

I'm trying to put a list together on the what I'm going to need..

First, I don't know what size bulkheads to get for the corner overflow on the 90gal DT?

Second, What size PVC pipe am I going to be running from and too the DT too and from the tanks in the basement?

Hope the makes sense.

Thanks for any help!

I don't know, Just thought the more water volume the better. And just thought that's the way I should do it..When I do a water change just take the water outta that tank then replace it, So I dont have to mess with the DT..If your saying I shouldn't do it this way, ok! Tell me why I shouldn't do it this way and what I should do?

P.S. I was also thinking of putting some live rock in it..

Oh, I get it now. I'll have to think about this and get back to you later. One thing you're right about is that you want the biggest sump/fuge you can fit. One way to do what you're planning is to have the tanks at different heights so they will drain into the next one.

I agree with Mike on this one. Easier to set up the tanks next to each other and let gravity feed the next one, instead of using a pump between them. Other than that, looks like your good to go.

What I'm missing is that if you are running this into the basement I would assume you have a good chunk of space. Why are you doing multiple small tanks for a sump/refugium??? Get a 75 gallon tank and put everything into that (with baffles)....done!

Here's what I see happening, correct me if I'm wrong. You're basically planning to use the " water change tank" as a refug tank. Then when time for water change, do it there. I like that idea, like you said you don't disturb the DT that way. Plus, the hassle of the water change and necessary equipment is all in the basement.
While I'm on the other side of the fence with water changes.....(I know, I just opened a can of worms there), I like your thought process. My setup is a 90 DT, 28 display refug, 12 sump, 12 refug, and a skimmer. My overflow from my DT I believe is 1 1/2, and the same with my display refug. I run three pumps, one main return pump, one to skimmer, and one that runs to the two refugiums. I also left a split on the third pump to run to a brs filtration system later.
But, I have to have all mine confined to one cabinet.
