Bulkhead installation

How many people installed their bulkheads backwards so the flange is on the outside and don't have leaking I've read a lot of stuff about it and it's about half and half . I'm wanting to try this so that the flange is on the back side so I can put the tank closer to the wall

So long as you have o-rings on both sides (which they usually do), it shouldn't matter which way they are facing in terms of being able to get a good seal.
