I just purchased a 180 gallon drilled aquarium with I believe 1.5 inch bulkheads, this is my first time plumbing with larger bulkheads as I've always been able to use standard 1 inch pvc and connect directly to my return pumps. How should I go about doing this with larger pvc, my return pump only has a 1 inch output.

The simplest way would be to come out of your 1.5 inch bulkhead with 1.5 pipe then run the pipe into a 1.5 inch x 1 inch (slip x slip) reducer and then simply use 1 inch pipe to continue the run to your return pump.

Good luck!

I'd put a 1" to 1.5" adapter/union on the pump and run 1.5" pipe to the bulkhead.
