Bulkheads on sump drain lines

Stupid question. What is the purpose of using bulkheads on the sump for the drain line(s)?

Stupid question. What is the purpose of using bulkheads on the sump for the drain line(s)?

It just makes it look cleaner if everything fits together perfectly.

It would add a bit of structural support and stability as well...
