I have a 75 gallon aquarium that I’m wanting to drill for bulkheads. My question is what size bulkheads should I use for the 75 gallon aquarium?

#WelcometoR2R! The size of the bulk head is often determined by the overflow box that you are using. What is your plan for the drain system?

I'm curious why you want to drill the tank to use a canister? Although a canister can work, most people have moved to sumps where you have more flexibility with your filtration (especially for corals). I have drilled a lot of tanks, but when I have set up up a system with a canister (primarily for fish only systems) I haven't drilled the tank.

Agree with @Peace River , If you use a bulkhead with a canister filter, you'll need to somehow stop the flow from the tank when you clean the filter.

Agree with the previous posters. If you're gonna go to the trouble of drilling the tank, then I'd get a standard tank like a 20 long or 40 breeder (depending how much room you have in your stand) and baffle kit and make a sump instead.
