Bullying - Please Help!

If you dont have access to a acclimation box, make one out of a decent sized tupperware container. Drill holes in it for flow and put him in there on time out. Watch where he goes when the lights go out and then shine a red light in the tank and scoop him out.

The problem is finding those people and keeping the gramma away from other fish during this time in which finding a buyer. Dire situations need dire solutions.
The damage to the ywg is done, and as far as we know the gramma isn't aggressive towards the other fish so the situation isn't dire at all. It's quiet a simple one actually, one I have faced many times. It's not hard to set up a 5 gallon bucket with a heater and an air stone until a home is found. A home which someone has offered already.

To fault a fish and condemn it to a cruel death for simply exhibiting natural behavior is extremely narrow sighted and I hope no one reading this will follow that advice.

Ridicule me all you want, I’m out of this thread.

I'm not ridiculing you and I'm sorry if it came across that way. I'm just pointing out that the advice you gave is very harsh, specially because most of us see our fish as pets and as pets they are an extension of our family. We cannot have an attitude towards our pets that will have us end their life because they are misbehaving. In the wild these fish have much bigger territories than the ones we submit them to, some adapt while others don't, we cannot treat the ones that don't as expendable.

I'm sorry bad feeling came from this thread. I personally don't think I could do the flush...as bad as I feel for YMG. I watch these guys from 3 feet away 10 hours per day!

@joe0813 - I made a makeshift hospital for YMG ...

Yes, I’m leaving this thread but before I do I’m going to make a final statement.

@joe0813, I like your idea of catching the gramma! Otherwise to address your other post, yes I understand it’s cruel and no, I’m not leaving the hobby just because I said one thing like this. That’s overdramatic for saying ONE very bad thing. I don’t abuse fish in any way. I personally have had a terrible experience with grammas and that influenced my opinion. I hope if we ever cross paths again we’ll have a better confrontation.

@Copingwithpods, I understand I said something cruel and like I said, I’ve have had a horrible experience with grammas and that influenced me. Again, I don’t abuse fish in any way and I’m sorry for recommending something cruel. I hope if we encounter each other again it won’t be negative

@ChrisKSB, I’m sorry that I recommended something cruel and I’m sorry for starting this bad vibe. I like your hospital for YMG! I hope your YMG recovers from its injuries. Hopefully it recovers and your aggression problem will be fixed. Lastly, I hope if we ever come across each other, it won’t turn sour.

Sorry and bye!

Sorry to hear that. I had a female black ocellaris that originally picked on the male, but then started attacking my anthias and foxface. Needless to say they got evicted. If the gramma focuses on the others let me know. I have some tips on how to catch fish without tearing apart the rockwork. Otherwise, I hope things start to mellow out for you @ChrisKSB

Sorry didnt mean to sound rude.. Sitting in lockdown has made me insane

Man sorry for the news. we all have agressive fish. in the past I have two percula clownfish that is nested in my tank and will kill anything including my arm. I got rid of them and got other fish. So far my royall grammas have been good citizens, they will chase any fish out of their cave but my blue green chromis will slap them back in the face lol. I added them last so that help with territories. I also picked fish that dont overlap much with their territory wise.

For aggressive fish you can always try to mirror trick. Just put a mirror big enough for the fish to see themselves. Usually the aggressive fish becomes way less aggressive doing so.

This approach has allowed me to keep a Powder Blue and Achilles tang together. Also was able to keep a Lineatus and a Red Margin wrasse together doing this as well.
