Any ideas?

I’ve had something similar growing off of the chin of one of my clowns in QT... antibiotics had little effect on it, but a ruby reef rally bath remove most of the “white” growth and the rest went away on it’s own eventually.

Ruby Reef Rally. It has both antiseptic and antibiotic qualities. Works great in QT and bath. Very gentle on fish. Mostly an acriflavine product which works well on infections and some parasites.

Better picture. Any ideas?

Yep. That sure looks like lympho. Not much you can do other than maintain pristine water quality and feed a large variety of foods with some vitamin additives. Lympho is a virus that the fish will have for its entire life. The growths can come and go. It's usually harmless to the fish. Be prepared to treat the fish with antibiotics if an infection develops. But this is kinda rare to happen.
Breeders of expensive fish usually separate fish infected with Lympho as it is contagious. Usually fish with strong immune systems are unaffected by Lympho.
That being said, you want to keep a close eye watching for the growths interfering with the fish's mouth, gills and eyes.

Ok thanks for the great info. What if he dies? If we put another fish in the tank will it get it too?

Can any inverts get it?

Lympho is contagious but not typically fatal. If it presents around or in the gills it can be a problem but usually goes away on its own with clean water and Nutritional foods

I mean what if I add fish after he dies. Will the virus still be in the tank and contagious?

oof can that condition happen to maroons? I think doing a antibiotic would not hurt, but the best is to wait this out with good conditions maybe quarantine it if you want to. Treatment would not hurt.

The virus is viable in the water, after sloughing off a fish, for about a week.

He quit eating yesterday but the bump seams to be getting better. But it also looks like it maybe eating his lip.

Have you done the Ruby Reef Rally bath yet? I would do that now, if you’re able.

Clownfish do get these bacterial maybe? growths that look like lympho (melypr called them clownfish pimples). I had one grow off a clown’s chin in QT, looked like a beard. Treated with antibiotics and no change, but a 90-minute bath in ruby reef rally took off most of the “white” growth and the pink spot underneath healed up on it’s own.

And just realized I’ve already mentioned that previously in this thread so I guess I’m just reiterating my point lol

What RRR do I need? There are several out there. Thanks

This is the one that contains acriflavine:

I’ve seen others successfully use API Fungus Cure as well in a pinch, also contains acriflavine.
