Haven't seen this before, nor haven't yet found info, still looking through all the stickies.

Only on the left side, above the eye on this fish.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Have had the three current fish for a long time, no signs of anything else and all seem very fat & happy.

How long have you had it and what's the diet? Through my research I've found HLLE to be a symptom of a diet laking in Vitamin C. Quality Nori should provide this and a few drops of Selcon added to food would also help.

I'm not 100% sure if the bump is related, but I do see the onset of HLLE around his face: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/hlle-head-lateral-line-erosion.259916/
Yeah,
I just finished that thead / sticky, and am assuming the same thing. Kinda like either fungal or tumor like, but it really only appeared this morning.

I soak their foods in: selcon, fish oil, Aquaforest fish V, brightwells omega etc...
I only use premium nori from my sushi vendor, premium, live seafoods for my home made, (I get & make at work ).
and LRS.

They are all transferred from my old tank, but this one is completely algae free atm, I will up their diet / foods.

Still doing some research.

I agree with addressing the possible HLLE, but I would keep an eye on that bump. I recently had a bad experience with a similar "fungus-like" wound on a mimic tang. If it starts to spread or he starts acting off (breathing heavy, etc), you might start thinking about treating as an injury or infection.

Great advice thus far, I agree your tang has HLLE and like the others I am not entirely sure if that's what the spot is..

Keep an eye on it and keep us posted!

Keep up the good work and good nutrition! Lots of nori and healthy foods (no flakes and not many pellets, IMO)

I actually don't feed dry food.
(Rarely as a treat for the clown).

I have her on a diet with: merto, kana, general cure & focus.
Schedule to be done Saturday.
I was worried about infections.

I don't know if I would feed kana or general cure... just metroplex.

Also feed nori and spirulina brine as a good mix :) Varied offerings help as well as soaking foods in selcon or vita chem
