I purchased a male mccoskers flasher wrasse 2-3 weeks ago and a few days after I got it a bump began to form on its head. Furthermore, there are 2 white dots that I swear seem to move on his head. He has continued to eat very well and acts otherwise fine but it just still has me guessing since the bump is not going away. I really can't get a picture as he loves to swim around the tank. Anyone have any ideas, should I worry and try to treat for anything or just continue and see if it goes away?

Do you have any pictures?

It could be ich. My Male Melanurus Wrasse got the same thing and died a couple of days later even though it really didn't show much in the way of the tell tale signs.

That doesn't look like ich to me. The bump on the head I can't see well enough to see what it is. He has some beat up marks on his body. Is anyone bullying him? Does he appear to be scratching against rocks or anything?

No one bullies him at all, and definitely not ich. He twitches once in a while which makes me think it's a parasite of some kind. The spots look to be raised scales in 1 or 2 small spots, no discoloration or redness to the spots just a few raised scales. I just transferred the tank to a new home yesterday and the wrasses colors are a little off in that picture as a result. He's still doing fine today.

That sounds a lot like flukes. You can dose prazipro directly to the dt to treat.

Hi guys. Just found my 6 line has a large white bulge under left eye. Anyone can help diagnose the problem? Thanks.
