Bumpy Green Snail ID

I got the Indo-Pacific Sea Farms live sand activator with wonder mud and it came with this pretty neat snail. Aside from the neat shell the snail itself is green. I haven't been able to figure what kind it is after a bit of searching. Thoughts?

Looks very much like a whelk snail. The shell may be adopted as they can or may switch shells

This one was in a bag labeled just for the LSA.

It finally came back out in the open to get a good shot, seems you are right. I prefer it's new shell, it has good taste.

Wait, What? I am not sure the species of snail, but a hermit crab can switch shells, snails do not switch shells. The shell continues to grow as the snail grows.

Honestly after looking at shells, I would just send the pictures to ipsf and ask them. They would have a better idea of what it is and whether it's safe or not.
Especially since it's from their area

The only thing I came up with is a possible type of conch.

This is exactly what I was just thinking about doing.

But first my wife reminded me that we have books. Imagine, paper books!

The description and picture here reads like a milk conch to me. But once you google it, not so much anymore.

I will email IPSF and see what they say.

Ya know, I didn't see the patterning before but it could be. I'm not sure about the overall shape though, it's a bit more conch like to me.

Much better pic and im mystified. Has the body of a queen conch and shell of a turban snail but likely neither ???

In my drop off tank, I have a nassarius - One only and it went from a speckled shell to a solid colored shell. Thought I was seeing double

OK. I still believe you had two snails. It is impossible for a snail to loose its shell without dying. Maybe it was a cat snail and still has seven lives left!
