I purchase a rock flower anemone about a week ago, and I can't find it. "it's the size of a quarter" I believe it has been buried. if so can it get back to the surface on its own?

Rock flowers don’t burry in the sand. It’s probably in a crevice and adjusting

Typically they do not, however when I first got mine one moved to the sand bend. I went to move it and it buried itself immediately. It came right back out soon after, but I assume it had anchored itself on the bottom glass and retracted when bothered. That particular nem now lives at the bottom of the tank. No idea if this is what is happening to OP's nem, and my experience is completely anecdotal, just sharing that experience in case it helps.

I didn’t not know that...bad advice on my part. I was just assuming the owner place it in the tank and can’t find it

I can’t find it is right. But, I was just wondering if it got Buried by accident if you could make its way back out to the surface.

I put 4 in a couple weeks back. Got them to say in place after a couple days or wrestling with them on placement by gluing large pieces of rubble rock together to find relatively flat pieces. These provided enough holes in them that the nems would lock in and find it secure. Other benefit is that I could move and easily break these rocks up without having to take down large pieces of rock work. I thought I was the RA jedi master after almost 2 weeks of staying in place. I woke up on morning with one missing RA. I assume it wandered off and dig into the sand which after digging around I found. It dug down deep under the sand and completely covered. Not sure if it would have died being buried after time, but I dug it out and returned it to the RA island. Moral(s) of the story: 1) no RA Jedi master 2) happy place may be temporary. =)
