They sell replacement lenses or can replace it if the light is still under warranty. I had this happen on one that I had in my refugium but I ran the light for long periods at a time (the light also died on me but it may have gotten salt creep). Not sure if it is a fan issue or what

Is there a place to buy this that is cheaper than the AI store? $7 for a piece of plastic, $14 to ship it. Rather outrageous.

You are correct. It is an AI prime HD.(SKU 210227)
Apparently discontinued I'm assuming because of this issue.
