Burned???

So one of my chromis has a weird looking mark on the side of its body. I am going through the ugly phase so at first I thought he brushed up against a rock and it was just diatoms or something that rubbed off onto him but upon closer inspection, I dont think that is it.
I am wondering if it is a burn since my heater has something stuck to it about the size of the mark on the chromis. Ideas?

I have caught the chromis sleeping wedged between the heater and the glass in the morning before lights on so that is my best guess.

anything I should do to treat? Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Unlikely to be honest. Not impossible but unlikely

Been doing some more research. Does anyone think this looks like uronema? If so, should i remove the chromis? Is this a threat to the other fish?

Sorry - that is almost surely Uronema. Heaters just don’t burn fish, the fish would have to stay pressed tight to them for some time, and the fish just don’t hold still that long.
Take a look in the library section here for my article on red band disease.
Bad news - this isn’t treatable for this fish. Good news is that it isn’t super contagious - and when it is, only certain species will get it: anthias, green chromis and yellow wrasse make up the bulk of cases I see here.

Sorry - that is almost surely Uronema. Heaters just don’t burn fish, the fish would have to stay pressed tight to them for some time, and the fish just don’t hold still that long.

Thank you. I did some research last night and figured that was it so I removed the fish and put it down.
