Hello Randy,

Wondering if you can help me out with formulating your two part recipe. After much searching, I’ve concluded that Briners Choice Calcium Choride pellets are my safest option, as they are food grade. Picture of product is below and SDS is attached. Reading past threads I do see that Bromide is a potential concern with this product, however I have an AWC system which changes 1.5% of my system water per day, so I don’t think I have to worry about Bromides. Can you guide me as to how much of this product I should be mixing with 1 gallon of water to achieve 37,000 ppm calcium, as specified by Recipe 1 of your 2 part recipe? I believe it would be approximately 400g/gallon, as this is an anhydrous product, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you in advance.

That material looks like a good choice to me. Use about 20% less than my recipe because it is anhydrous.
Randy, thanks for the help, that is what I was thinking based upon your recipe but wanted to confirm. Although expensive, this product is almost 4x cheaper than BRS, and the food grade rating leaves me a bit more comfortable then most of the ice melt products.

Yes, the food grade is very useful. :)
