burnt tips help

so whats the best way to cure burnt tips besides feeding more to get nutrients up higher?
Besides that factor... (upping phosphates and nitrates)

Keep your alk nice and stable.

Dose something like Red Sea "Reef Energy" to keep up the organics in your water column.

If your carbon dose, don't let you alk get higher than 8.5 dkh, can help too.

Tagging for other's inputs too... :)

alk has been stable at 10.0 and calc 430 with henna checkers

Are you going full blown KZ - ZeoVit?

That's for a way lower alk than 10

High alk with low nutrients or organics can lead to burnt tips.
Carbon dosing can make matters worse at high alk.

When I used to carbon dose, I played it safe and never let my dkh climb higher than 8.0

To me Reef Energy is like protection, by holding up the organics.

IMO lower your ALK to around 8.0

If your building blocks are low, then your alk needs to be near NSW level - 6.5-7. The alk needs to limit calcification since you do not have excess N and P to slow the calcification down.

I'd lower your alk like the others have already stated.

If you dosing KZ trace elements. I'd rather preform the Red Sea "Colors" program.

You dose the Red Sea to your calcium's intake. That way, is a lot safer.

Also:
Some of the KZ products do not list ingredients. That can hurt (ruling out an element) if you need to pull a Triton test.

I agree. Lower your alk to about 8 dkh SLOWLY. Try to increase no3 to 5-10ppm and po4 to .03-.08. Having some nutrients in the water will help also.
