Now I know what a burned coral looks like. Not sure what kind of monti it is but when moving some things around I noticed the one side was black. It's a nice reddish encrusting one or at least was all around, dang it. The others all seem fine though. Anyway it's now off to the side and my intensity lowered a notch. Wish i had a par meter!

It's a G5 radion and i moved it just off to the side a bit. I'm at 43 percent intensity in a 40 breeder. Was thinking of lowering it back to 42 intensity.

BRS did a video on the G5 with par readings and mounting heights. It’s worth a watch, while it won’t be exactly the par you’re seeing it would at least give you ballpark numbers.

I have never had a coral go black from being burnt. I have seen corals bleach white, and stn from light levels though.

That burned side was facing away from me so too bad I didn't notice it earlier

It looks ok from what I can see under the blue lights. If it was light related I would have expected the top of the coral to be showing the bleaching. I’d leave the lights along and give it some time.

In the same area and more under the direct light I have forest fire digi's, green slimer, and other encrusting monti along with even zoanthids and also a setosa.

I have a new acro on the sand bed still adjusting so I'll leave the lighting alone.

Could be having my nutrients a little low and my alk high too. Still adjusting my dosing.

Been getting my alk down to 9.8 but the other day it went back up to 10.9 because i think my kalk solution was a bit stronger when I refilled it. It's been higher than that over the few months so have been making some progress. My N03 is 1.0 and P04 tested at .04 yesterday.

Alk high , recommended 8-9
Do not dose for 3/4 days and recheck before resuming dosing

Yes I know. I don't want the alk to drop to fast though. Not dosing for days will also drop my PH further which i don't want. I'll just adjust my dosing gradually.
