The live rocks are very mature, but I never in my life bought a feather duster. I noticed this new guy and I’m very happy. Is this a real feather duster? Do they reproduce in an aquarium? How did this happen?

They are very common hitchhikers in our reefs. Depending on the types of fish you have, they may or may not flourish. Some fish love to eat them.

How big can I expect these to grow? Will they be like the ones at the LFS? Also, I have many more even tinier ones in a Custer on a different rock. A picture won’t even show it clear enough.

There are many different species - some tiny, some large.

Are these considered pests?

I think I have one in my QT and I’ve been holding off on adding the coral it’s attached to into my display tank.

What you see is likely the size it will remain (provided something doesnt come along and eat it).
