Large male Pseudanthias Pleurotaenia.

Received with subdermal darkness, most obvious when back lit. No external access to the issue, but as I run my fingers across the area it is firmer than the rest of the flesh.

Looks to be to be an internal parasite, maybe several. After looking at several threads, still haven't seen something that matches. It reminds me of the worms you get in the drums you catch sport fishing, but dark in color.

Considering prazi pro, don't want to stress out this guy with meds that don't work.

Please advise.

Poor guy. I haven't encountered anything like this before, but my gut reaction would be to try metroplex.

Dactylogyrus trematodes or Piscicolidae Worms are two possibilities. But both should break through the scales soon, if present.

Treating with prazi + metro (API General Cure) would be a good first step. The side effects of GC aren’t as bad as liquid Prazipro.
