Yes, I've read the other Red Sea Reefer 250 lighting rec threads. Yes, I'm still posting my own. Why? Because I'm different. I don't care about having the fanciest, schmanciest newest LED technology. I don't need thunderstorms or something I can control with my phone (but it should have a display on the light.) And, I don't want to grow SPS in this tank
. (I'm just not a fan. Plus I have a 90g if I want them later.) This tank is my shroom garden and gorg hangout for seahorses.
I do, however, need something stronger than my 12" Wavepoint Microsun Super Blue...which was totally fine on my JBJ45 (until it cracked up the side one night and got replaced by the Reefer 250 a year later.) I've got one new gorgonian that needs some stronger lighting. Yes, I'm upgrading light for 1 coral that I didn't even have to pay for.
Desires: mount on tank- which is already set up, so really can't drill into the stand now. I'd really rather not hang from the ceiling if possible. Open to T5 and LED- but no desire for a lot of different settings that I, frankly, won't use. I'm also not sold on spending $800 on a light only to turn it down very low for the shrooms :/ but of course also weighing the cost of bulbs over time.
So...low frill options?
