Hey guys, I have my copperband butterfly in qt right now and am adding him to my mixed reef. I figure as much as I feed the tank he should be fine. What I was wondering is how many others have taken the risk and added a butterfly to their reef? I was thinking we could post our experiences with different species so we can try to make it a bit less taboo!

I'll have more to contribute once my cbb finishes up his second round of prazi. (I also need to get him more excited about mysis. He goes crazy for Selcon soaked bloodworms, but the auto feeder does mysis and I need him eating a few times a day to keep him from getting coral fever....) I have resigned myself to no dusters, because... eh.... but I do like clams and meaty lps, so I know i'm taking a risk.

I've had cbb be fine in a reef, but the last one I had started eating acans.

No PE and he loves acans but it is worth it completely!! I absolutely love him and he's got such a wonderful personality!

I had a raccoon butterfly for over a year in my FOWLR tank. When I decided to switch to corals, he tore up my frogspawn and candy canes. He never touched the gsp or mushroom. I ended up giving him to my lfs because I knew he was going to eat up the lps. It was fish only or corals....

Cant contribute much since fowlr, but once i tried some mushrooms, my pakistan went to town with them... and heres my butterflies
