I have been a bit far from reading information about angelfishes and especially butterflyfishes of which I have quite limited information as personal knowledge until now. Thank god I finally have some free days and I plan to research and read what I can, so if you have or know of any interesting article about butterflyfish please share it in this thread and that way I will take advantage of my short vacation, angelfishes information is also welcome :D.

Well, I have the idea of making a tank with butterflyfishes and maybe a couple of angelfish, but I haven't found the time/space to start the project.

I have heard good comments about that book, I hope to get it here in Mexico. I have the book 'Angelfishes of the world' by Kiyoshi endoh. I think most dwarf angels and some large angels are moderately easy to keep for the experienced aquarist, but butterflies are more delicate still, handling the fish and acclimating to the tank takes more care, I don't plan to keep coralivore butterflies if I'm not willing to offer them coral for a correct development.

I like this book:
Will this be a reef?
Most angels are fairly simple to care for. Many butterflies hate shipping and some have diet requirements not easily met.
+1 to this!
I have this book (and another from the same collection) and it has just about everything we know of about species of angels/butterflies that rarely even make it into the hobby. For example Genicanthus caudovittatus and Chaetodon nippon.

Assure no corals or at least SPS without polyps. A fish only tank with these species can be amazing but they do have dietary and water quality reqiorements as well as need for space

Hello vetteguy, you have hit the nail on the head since I'm not a coral guy, fish are my passion and butterflies and angelfishes are my all time favorites, I have had this project in mind for a long time, and although here in Mexico we don't have such a wide variety of species available I think I can achieve something interesting.

I have been saving this link for a long time to review it as soon as I could, if you have articles like this I would greatly appreciate it if you shared them in this thread.
