300 G FOWLER. I got hit with velvet and lost 2/3 of the specimens, now after a long treatment and recovery, I am slowly restocking. Next up are Butterflys

I had 3 Auriga Butterflys introduced together at 2" long. 2 died in the velvet wars. The one remaining is now a healthy and aggressive 5-6" specimen. I'd like to introduce 1-2 new Aurigas. Would I get 2 large specimens, 4-6" and try it? Am I dreaming? I've not seen much written to the positive of this being possible. I'll rearrange rockscape, separate them at intro etc. The new fish have to go thru QT in a 36 gallon for 6 weeks.

If I were to introduce 2-3 Racoon Butterflys of a smaller size would chances be better? I like both species, and want multiples of same species.

I suppose I could remove the one large Auriga and truly start over, but trying to avoid that, he is a great fish and already through QT.

The large Auriga most likely would beat on any new Aurigas. If he is aggressive, new fish won't be tolerated. They are one of the larger butterflies and can get to 10 inches. Raccoons tend to school together, so you may be lucky with three. It would be hit or miss with the raccoons and the Auriga. My Auriga would chase newcomers for a few days but would calm down after a while.

It is what I figured. I'm bummed i lost those other two Aurigas. They were getting along for a year. I think I'll try the school of Raccoons, they will be smaller than the Auriga i have though.

I have a Racoon now and would like to add an Auriga. The Racoon is very peaceful never chased any of the fish in my 220 FOWLR. I actually just asked about this in a new post then saw this thread.
