I saw this really small butterfly fish (2" or so) at the store but I can't remember what it was and didn't see a tag for it. The pattern looks familiar like a Coralivore but im not 100% sure
Very active and healthy though

It does look like a coral eater to me... similar to Chaetodon plebius but not quite right.

Kinda looks like this guy but doesn't seem they were sure on the ID.

I cannot say for sure but gut feeling tells me it’s an obligate corallivore (as are many of the more exotic looking ones) so unsuitable for your system.

Maybe one day we can keep them if we find a way to provide their diet.

I don’t know how big your system is, but if it’s not too big stick to a hardier butterfly like a Klein’s, Lemon, Tahiti, the Roaps subgenus etc.

I would recommend WWM and Scott W. Michael’s book on Angels and Butterflies as well as asking here.

A blue head kleini is safe and also eats aptasia

In case you’re shopping for a Kleini butterfly, I have one and it is absolutely NOT reef safe. Muched on every sps I have. It now lives in my sump, you can have it if local.

Was going to come back and say it looks like a juvi gold flake angel. Came across a pic of a juvi on a persons thread and ohhhhh.. set in.
