i just bought a copperband butterfly and was wondering if it will pose a threat to my berghia nudis. if i keep him well fed will it be a problem. looks fat and healthy.

maybe, Mine ate a conch, so I wouldn't put it past one to eat most any invert, minus some more active crabs and shrimp.

I think it'll come down to the personality of the fish. Mine is a great eater but will not touch aptasia, and he will go to town on nori for some reason.

As does my smaller one in my 135 but this guy was a great price for the size. about 4 inches and he ate a few bites of frozen LRS. I know I can get him to eat and am planning to put him in an acclimation ox for a few days to get the yellow tang used to him.

My CBB eats frozen mysis, frozen bloodworms, live brine, clams (the expensive ones too), aptasia, and snails.

It does not touch corals, nori or flakes.

my issue/concern is with the yellow tang as well as the nudis being killed off and the yellow beating the crap out of him onc i release him from the acclimation box.

Years ago I tried some berghia nudis to clear up Aiptasia in my 100 gallon mixed reef. I also had a Copperband at the time. I don't know who really cleared up the Aiptasia problem in the end (Copperband, peppermint shrimp, or Berghia) but I seem to recall the Berghia only coming out at night. Note the Copperbands are constantly looking in all nooks and crannies. The Nudis are small enough so I'd wager they would be food.
