Please read here before posting. Outside comments are not permitted per R2R's feedback forum policy. This is to allow the buyer and seller to have a streamlined conversation and hopefully come to a mutually satisfactory resolution in a negative transaction. Tried to order ready to use. Received expired powder. Will not accept returns. Really IMG_1489.png IMG_1491.jpeg IMG_1488.png

I’d call your bank and have them reverse the charge
Agreed. Doesn't even matter who it is, if you ordered one thing and got something else entirely, attempted to work with them and still don't have the product or your money, dispute the charge. This should be a no-brainer for the credit card company, especially if you have emails showing they both acknowledged the incorrect product and refused to fix it.

Also, oddly enough, I've had *very* good results filing complaints with the BBB.
Complaining on a business' facebook page (especially via the reviews, since they're very limited in what they can do about those), tends to get results as well.

We have already provided you with a return label and we have shipped out the correct product. It was an honest mistake and we took care of this already. Our warehouse manager shipped the incorrect item by mistake and the exp. date is on the food pouch (inside the retail container) and the expiration is not on the outside of the retail packaging. We had no idea it was expired because we don't open the retail packaging for obvious reason. We are going to look into this with the US importer. Thank you.

We’ll, looks like I’ll be a customer!

I just noticed something, our warehouse guy put our internal bar code label over the window where you can see the exp. date. To make matters worse, we received these into our warehouse on 10/12/2023...2 weeks ago. The vendor sent them to us and they were expired when when we received them. I guess it's safe to assume that the importer didn't notice the exp. date and I can assure you that our warehouse mgr. didn't notice it either.

I have reached out to the US importer to get the inventory replaced.

We do our best to provide exceptional customer service. We are into our 19th year as a company and that doesn't happen by accident. Thank you for your understanding. This is one SKU out of thousands that we stock in our warehouse and mistakes happen. The thing that is import is, how you handle the mistake. I think our team took the bull by the horns. As the owner, I take our business very seriously and passionately.

dang, this is some effective advertising.

I am not saying this was staged, please don't get me wrong.

All I am saying is, marketing professionals out there got to take note as to how fast I just went from not even knowing what the company was, to checking out the store... On a complaint thread.

Looks like you guys at @AquariumSpecialty take your investigations seriously. That's pretty dope.

Funny but it wasn't staged. I'm not that smart. But you did touch on an important point, we must do a better job of marketing!

It's not that a mistake happens but rather how it is handled afterwards that matters. Personally I would have reached out to the the vendor first and a post here would only happen if there was no resolution if even then but I'm not a big fan of complaining on the net. But it is what is is these days. Cudos to @AquariumSpecialty for the resolution and the free advertisement, now I know who you are. I always prefer to deal with private owned businesses owned by individuals vs one owned by some venture capital company :winking-face:

Well I'm glad this is resolved. And AquariumSpecialty has been in business for over 10 years now and I congratulate them on that.

Wish them all the success!

And guess what, it's a little secret but you don't have to pay out of state sales tax if you are located outside of SC since we are a small business.

I'm a fan of Aquarium Specialty! The customer service has been excellent in my experience. I agree though, more exposure/marketing would be nice because it's a good vendor!

If more of you guys were Partner Members, you would have known about the awesome deals we have been getting all year from @AquariumSpecialty .

I never knew about them either until they stepped up for us partner members last year. They have replaced BRS for 99% of my reefing needs.
