Per the reviews on the link you posted for the light, This light is nice for a low light corals. Clams really need better lighting especially the Maxima and Crocea.

As long as your water chemistry is stable and you have sufficient light you could proceed with a clam. Try to get a clam larger than 2 inchs if able.

I don't plan on upgrading the lights any time soon. I'll just have to wait on the clam for now ...

To be honest I don't know yet. As of now I only have a purple tip condy anemone, a frogspawn and a small colony of zoas. My tank is only 36 gallons so I want to start being more selective on the corals that I buy. I'm looking for corals that have bright colors that are going to pop when I put them in the tank. Any recommendations?

I highly recommend considerimg to return the condy. They are movers and in minutes can be cover and killing a coral

They have also been found to eat fish, sometimes clowns that try to host

Oh man that sucks. That's my favorite coral so far specially when I feed it. I'll have to consider getting rid of it once I start buying more corals. As of now it has been in the same spot since I bought it about a month ago. Thanks for the info I'll definitely keep it in mind

Tahoe61 the corals that you mentioned, would they be able to survive and be healthy with the current light bar that I have?

Condys are cool, but can be dangerous. Theyre are many less transient nems, even prettier ones... bta for example

Yea I think I'm going to go with a bta specially if I end up buying some clows. Thanks for the advice

I found two used Kessil A350W for $200 each. If I buy those two lights do you think that will be enough for a clam and maybe some of the corals that require good lighting?

What are your tank dimensions? One of those kessils should be enough for a 36

You could put whatever you want in there with the Kessils but like BoneXriffic said you probably only need one.

The tank dimensions are approximately 36"x16"x16" high. So one light would be enough for the whole tank? That would be great...

Unfortunately you'd need both. I don't know why but I assumed it was a cube tank.

I just realized that the Kessil A350W is an older model that is not compatible with the Kessil spectral controller. If I buy two Kessil A160WE do you guys think that would be good enough? Those are half the price of the Kessil A360W brand new.
