I am getting a 135 gallon tank with no holes drilled for a sump. I am trying to figure out what kind of pump and filltration system I should use. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the tank empty that you are buying? if so, I would seriously consider drilling the holes. If that just isn't an option. I highly suggest a 'CPR' overflow box. They are as full proof as you can get for a HOB overflow. Then decide on how big of a sump you can fit under the tank. Then it's just about finding a properly rated skimmer...

Filtration system depends on what you are planning to have. If you want FOWLR then you don't need anything fancy but if you want corals I would suggest either ecobak or GFO/Carbon reactor. +1 on the CPR overflow box if you don't wanna drill holes. I have one and it works perfectly.

It is empty. Where/ how would I get it drilled if I wanted to go that route. About how much would it cost?

Will be using it for corals. I was looking for a quarenteen tank but this was such a good deal I could not resist. I have ecobak on my other tank so I will probably go that route. Any suggestions on the skimmer and ecobak system to use?

You can drill it yourself. Very easy, the first hole is nerve wrecking but after that it isnt that bad. I think AC will drill it for you and its a fair price i think(20-30dollars per hole?)

Skimmer, depends on how much you wanna spend. I'm on the market for a skimmer and am looking at the SWC or Cad Lights, but that's cuz I'm looking at specific types. Ecobak, I think is only a Warner Marine product, but I may be wrong. There are other biopellets in the market, but Warner Marine so far has received mostly good feedback.

How would I go about figuring that out?

Find out who the manufacturer of the tank is and then contact them. Usually the glass will only be tempered on the bottom of the tank. And here is a link to find out how to check, if you have no way of finding out the manufacturer.

How to tell if glass is tempered.

Fyi pvc overflows nvr fail and doesn't need air lifter about 1/10th the price of cpr overflows. I've let my tank sit empty for 4 days and didn't need to restart syphon. Long as u build it right.

Give me a call after xmas and u can chk out my system algae scrubber + pvc overflow all diy keeps my water clean for fowlr or reef
