Buying corals online around the holiday

Does anyone have any problems getting their corals or anything live around the holidays because I want to buy something but I'm not sure if I should because of getting it shipped because I know that ups and FedEx are behind because of the holiday so is this a bad time to buy live stuff online??

I know many vendors have already cut off sales until after the New Year because of past shipping issues.

This year has actually been worse than most for the shipping companies. I've had numerous orders delayed already. It's really irrelevant of the vendors themselves. There's just too much online shopping getting delivered now to risk livestock (IMO)...

Most vendors have already cutoff shipping at this point. I'd just wait until after New Years.

That's what I thought but what about people that are still trying to sell stuff on here wouldn't that be a problem to

I generally only order online in the spring/summer/fall. Winter has too many issues with extreme cold and winter storms to delay overnight shipments.

Most reputable companies have already cut off shipping for the year.
For example, we will take orders but we will not be shipping until after the first. Its a bad idea with all the packages being rushed.
UPS lost one of our shipments yesterday. 5 Boxes of ultra high end corals are sitting somewhere in Kentucky and there's nothing anyone can really do about it. When its a company it sucks but I would hate for something like this to happen to a customer, especially when you all are paying top dollar for some awesome corals

UPS and FEDEX,are overwhelmed. I just had a DOA . Late delivery from UPS. 13th for the 14th delivery.It came in on the 15th,freezing cold.Very ,Very bad time of year to order corals. And they all pushed for that last minute before Christmas Sales. It will keep getting worse every year,with more and more people buying online. I'd say Don't order corals from Oct 15th Thru Jan 15th.Then after that you have to watch the weather.If its bad that week don't Order.

Mine to was also stuck at the Ups hub in Louisville KY.Loss of coral,Loss of shipping charges. Charges to send dead coral back,Charges for shipping to replace dead coral.All in all a big Loss for everyone,Vendor's Loss in replacing coral and the 90 dollars you lost altogether just in shipping charges.

I would try to hold off until the holiday shipping disaster passes. That being said I feel your pain, I keep seeing good sales and deals that I would normally jump on if it weren't this week haha

Don't do it!
If I was a vendor I would not offer DOA guarantee 2 weeks before Christmas or 2 Weeks after Christmas.
You know every Fedex, UPS, USPS, Amazon, and DHL carrier are booked to the max.
Just wait until all the madness of the holiday season is over before you buy anything LIVE.

Yeah I'm gonna I thought that it would be a bad idea and I think that the people who are selling right now are crazy for doing it to because there killing stuff and they pretty much know that all these places delivering aren't gonna get it there in a day so they should feel bad for doing it and I'm talking about the people on this forum that are selling stuff to knowing that this would happen!! But I'm not gonna do it I just wasn't sure if you paid for 1 day shipping if they still delivered it knowing that it's live and everything because I've never tried this before but I'm definitely not gonna now that all of you guy's said what you said so thanks everyone
