What are everyone's thoughts about the success of purchasing fish on line? Is there a company that has more successful outcomes than the other?? What about shipping and maintaining proper temp especially during winter??

I like Dfs they seem to always have healthy fish. When looking to buy fish ask the vendor if they quarantine there fish before selling.

Dr Foster And Smith's Live Aquaria and Divers Den. I have had great success with over the years, though I always try to support my local stores sometimes they just don't have what I want. As for temp control, keep in mind this is what they do. Any vendor will use the right amount of water, top off with O2, thermal boxes and heat packs this time of year. I hate paying for shipping so I look for free shipping with $xx purchase.
Down side to online unless it's something like divers den you don't get to see the fish but a generic photo. Again the LFS is were you can see them and most will do special orders

DFS Live Aquaria... their fish are worth every penny I pay for shipping and peace of mind... always healthy, never a issue.

LiveAquaria. I bought 5 fish 2 inverts, a BTA and 1 frag from them over the thanksgiving weekend. They arrived on Tuesday morning and all were fine. The only problem, which could have doomed everything is that the UPS guy just dropped the box off in my garage and left. Fortunately the dogs let me know and I grabbed them immediately. Otherwise they were all healthy and perked up after acclimation.

I ordered from NY Aquatics once and my order got messed up. They sent me the wrong fish, but customer service was excellent and very understanding about the mixup. They refunded the purchase price including the shipping. Mistakes happen sometimes and I understand that, but because of the customer service, I would defionitly order from there again. The fish were packaged well, with thermal box and heating pouches.

For clean up crews, allot of people go to reefcleaners.org. Prices are very reasonable there.

+1 for liveaquaria. I've oredered probably around 7 or 8 fish there over the last couple years, only issue was one small chromis that died like 3 days after I put him in the tank, otherwise all were disease/pest free and acclimated just fine.. pretty good company.

I wanted to pitch in a little bit here. I want to mention ebay because I never read anything on here about it. I noticed just the other day actually, that there are many sellers on Ebay who sell corals and fish. Has anybody had any experience there?

I've only have bought from liveaquaria or from a store, my experience were very good with them. Fishes and inverts were healthy and pest free!

I've used Blue Zoo for all my online orders. I have 1 small LFS that has 4 salt tanks and a Petco where I live. My Petco is where fish go to die here and my LFS doesn't stock anything other than the standard fish. If you order enough through Blue Zoo they give you free shipping so that doesn't kill you on cost. I have bought 30+ fish from them and have only had 1 DOA and that was replaced with a simple phone call. I have had 0 die in my tanks so I have RAVE reviews for Blue Zoo.
