hi guys so next wednesday i plan on buying the first few fish for my fish tank from a LFS and wanted to know what sort of things i should look for and pay attention to on the fish before buying since i dont have a way to QT yet

What type of fish are you looking to get? Remember add the most timid fish first.

When buying fish and thats any fish i buy make the LFS feed first and make sure there eating and look health!

I would get the cardinals first. Jmo.

Observe closely for signs of physical damage, watch swim for signs of flashing or twitching or rubbing against rocks etc, try to watch it eating food as well.

Check the fish for any specks, etc. Check for any torn fins or other damage. Check to make sure the fish isn't emaciated. I'd ask them to feed the fish so you can see them eat.

Also, check to see if the tank is connected to other tanks. They usually are. Have a look at those other fish to make sure they are not diseased.

I also agree you should have a plan and know what order to stock the fish in. I'm not saying none of us never buy a fish on impulse, but use your Google to make sure the fish fits in. Don't buy a fish because you feel sorry for it.

No. Not at all. This is an excellent place to bounce your list off people. There are way more experienced reefers on here that can give you really good info.
so for my 75 i plan on getting
x1 Hawaiian Dwarf Eel, x1 Kole Tang, x1 One Spot Foxface, x1 Exquisite Fairy Wrasse, x3 Chalk Basslets, x3 Bangaii Cardinals, x2 Clowns, and a Wheelers Goby
I know its a little heavy stocking but i plan to size up to a 125 within the next year or so

ah okay i posted my stock list if you have any advice

I personally would start with a wheelers goby and tiger pistol pair.

I would hold off stocking the larger fish until you actually have the 125...personal choice. A lot can happen to derail good intentions.
oh i already have the money set aside and planned im just waiting for my hardwood to be redone so i dont have to move the 125 over and over again
