Restarting my 125 after making a cross country move. Live rock is needed to get the tank going. I was looking at Live Aquaria to buy the live rock, but they seem to be out. Where have you purchased live rock?

You can try craigslist, even if there is none posted. Try posting a wanted ad for live rock, you might be surprised there are people out there with it.

I've been considering BRS bulk dry rock for my next build, they also have video guides on aquascaping their rock.
My friend ordered from here recently: Live Rock from the South Pacific and Indo-Pacific - Fiji - Vanuatu - Manado, the Manado rock.
it is wild harvested live rock, supposedly 24 hours from ocean to your airport. The rock is certainly nice and full of life but obviously a lot of curing involved as well as hitchhikers.

Vic at World Wide Corals talked me into "Real Reef" Eco Friendly Live Rock. It's man made and fully cured. It's a bit more expensive but has some amazing shapes and crevices.

I've been happy with floridaliverock.com I definitely prefer cultured live rock that has been "grown" in the open ocean. You do need to hold it or "cure" it in a seperate tank for 3 - 4 weeks (think of it as quarinteine like you would fish). There is a host of benificial organisms like sponges and tunicates I like that are not available on the types of cultured live rock from troughs or outdoor tanks. All they usually have is just nitrifying bacteria and a few basic algaes started.
