Buying online

I was just going to ask that lol.

I placed an order just an hour or so ago because I saw that they were selling nicely priced purple tangs. I did read online how they basically neglect standard procedure for acclimating fish by tossing the fish from the bag from waist height and etc. Did read later on that fish would arrive DOA but NYaquatics would honor their 14 day guarantee and refund their money so I'll just have to see if my fish comes alive [emoji52]

I worked for NYAquatic for over a year about 5-6 years ago. I did not just "toss the fish into the tank straight from the bag from waist height and etc." I acclimated the fish between 1-2 hours and inspected specimens before they went into the tanks. Thats pretty ridiculous to say and i dont think any person selling fish for a living would do such a thing. Many fish come and go through the shop so fish diseases are inevitable through the entire process.

Has anyone ever bought from NYaquatic.com
I've seen a few threads where people have been very happy with purchases from NYaquatics. Personally, I have never used them.

I prefer to limit my fish purchases to Live Aquaria \ Divers Den and Vivid Aquariums. I've never had a bad experience with either (not even after LA/DD was bought out by Petco). I've been curious to see some reviews of NYaquatic as well...They do have some fish that are significantly cheaper then other vendors from time to time...

I've bought fish from there, and have never had a whiff of trouble with them that wasn't my own fault.

I don't live too far away, so I've gone down and picked them up. I've watched Michael (the owner) bag my fish, and seen new fish being drip-acclimated in his facility. I would purchase from NYAquatic again in a heartbeat - and doubtless will, once I get the new, larger tank up and running.

Ny Aquatic is good place i have got over 20 fish from them all come alive and i still have them 3 years later A+ all the way if you have any questions I can answer for you

I'm in California and have only ordered from them twice, just this year. I've kept sw fish for about 40 years and follow acclimation and quarantine procedures.
1. odontanthias bourbonnais. This is a tough species and it died overnight in the QT. Did receive a STORE CREDIT for the fish but no refund.
2. Used the store credit (plus addl $ and shipping) to get some peppermint shrimp and cleaner shrimp. Order was shorted 1 (of 2) cleaner shrimp and a couple of peppermints were DOA. Wrote in immediately and never received a response. I will not order from NY Aquatics again.

I've had nothing but success with LiveAquaria.com and Blue Zoo.

I've written reviews of this vendor on his account here. Michael is a great guy and this is my favorite vendor by a large margin. HIGHLY recommend. You can see from my fish list below (and this is about half of what I currently have) that I buy a lot of fish.
