Noticing a lot of places carrying these butterfly’s for sale. I was told they are obligate coral eaters. Has any one been keeping them on regular foods such as mysis, LRS, clams, etc. Would like to hear what your experience has been on keeping this fish.

Usually a polyp eater in the wild. Besides the normal shipping dangers to butterflies, difficulty will be in keeping it fed.

They do not fare well in captivity. They are obligate corallivores. I am not aware of a single success story.

Actually almost 2 years

Do you still have this fish? If not, how long did it live? If yes, please share your success story with us. What size was it when you got it, how did you get it eating frozen or other foods, does it pick on the coral in your tank?

I agree, very unlikely for someone to have success with them in the long run
