I have been attempting to use a co2 scrubber. I currently have it hooked up to my protein skimmer. eshopps psk-100h. For a day or 2 I was seeing results. but then it just stopped. looked at the media and about a tenth of it has changed color. I have it turned off today because out of no where my skimmer just started going crazy and filling the cup. so I left it turned off today. but I did notice yesterday that the co2 scrubber has no effect. I have it pulling air from the skimmer to the co2 scrubber and back into the tank. the resin hasn't changed a whole lot I have probably 98 percent of good resin for the co2 scrubber. I looked at the air line for kinks or breaks in it and nothing that would indicate that why it wouldn't have any positive results of raising my ph. at night it drops down to 7.7 and during the day 7.8 and will drop even more than then 7.7 the next night and won't recover. if I can figure out what why it just isn't pulling results. then I could correct it. suggestions on what I can look for. I don't leave my windows open during the day. but open them at night while im there for a few hours and close them before I head to bed.

I also thought about running an airline to the outside and bypass the co2 scrubber completely. the skimmer air intake line is 1/4 in. diameter. not sure what I can use in size to run it outside loosely to see if I get any results. suggestions on that also would be great.

I got a tip from some guy that posted a DIY scrubber design on his Instagram and claims it gets him 3 months of use before refilling the media. I can see a case for it, because the long tubing path (four 20 inch sections of 1.5" clear pvc) forces the media to expire sequentially. I am curious if anyone else would be so brave to make and test one.
