So I purchased a c250max and decided to try a few led alternatives before gutting the hood and putting a Steve’s LED type fixture in. I’m running Arcadia Led t5 replacements (3marine blue and 3marine white) and purchased an inexpensive submersible 2:1 white and blue led bar that I’ve suction cupped to the glass ledge at the front of the aquarium. I’m going to hook it up to a fluval timed dimmer to simulate a sunrise and sunset. All the bulbs and components cost me about

$200. Hopefully the whites in the cheap bar don’t throw too many reds off and make the algae grow like crazy. Time will tell...

Looking good. how's it been running for the first couple days?

So far so good. The led bar doesn’t run very hot and the colors look good. Definetly more of a blue-white color tone.
