Hello, pretty new to dosing. Yesterday I was having a bad day while doing a water change. Siphon hose came out of bucket and went down my pant and shoe, knocked 2 corals off, splashed water all over the place. After the change I was pretty annoyed. Checked my levels before leaving home for the night and needed to add calcium. I use BRS calcium chloride. I know I added it to fast because I was in a hurry. Left for the night and lights were off when I got home. This morning I noticed the zoas in the path of the power head are either closed or bleached out. Did the rapid addition of calcium burn them or should I be looking for another cause. If I did burn them will they recover? Thanks guys.

How fast did you add how much?

Such additions are not usually an issue, but you should add all chemicals to a high flow area away from organisms. Blasting any marine organism with high concentrations of any chemical can be an issue. Calcium chloride is nothing special in that regard, and simple salt might have done the same thing.
