It's from local pool supply store. And I followed recipe 1 with 2.5 cups per gallon. It did get warm

OK, so if it got warm, just be sure to add the calcium chloride to a substantial amount of water (not slowly adding water to the solid). The bucket should be fine if you are mixing it well.

I did just that. I have an old gallon glass bottle due to my husbands love of sangria. Washed it good and added bout half gallon of water then powder/pellets. After that mixed I topped it off

I re calibrated my refractometer. Salinity is at 1.024.
I'm getting closer to 400 ppm ca. Just doing about 50-80 ml per day
