Hi

Just a quick question I have a two channel doser and dose calcium and alkalinity.
My magnesium levels have dropped a bit is it possible to add the mg component to the calcium component at the right ratio for coral uptake?

Many thanks Justin

It depends on what you are using.

Magnesium chloride can be combined with calcium chloride, but magnesium sulfate cannot be because calcium sulfate will precipitate. An optimal magnesium additive will contain some of the sulfate form.

Thanks for the reply, is it something you would recommend doing or does it create more problems than it solves.
Cheers Justin

If you already have three dosers, I'd dose it separately. If you do not, and do not have money to burn, I'd dose magnesium manually because it depletes so very slowly compared to the alkalinity and calcium.
