I think I've read somewhere that running the effluent from ones Ca reactor to the air intake on the skimmer can help bleed off excess co2, but, that there is a potential that the Ca can precipitate out or something; that there was some negative aspect in doing so. Does anyone have any insight or experience with this? ***protein***

Yes some people use this method to get rid of co2 because skimmer shakes up water and co2 escapes from the effluent, but I wont suggest adding the effluent through skimmer's air intake but dripping directly into the skimmer......you wont damage the skimmer this way and yes you will clog the air intake with calcium/powder .....

Thanks. This skimmer has a port for the effluent line, and a separate valved air intake.
